Kodak Portra 160 - A flexible medium format negative film

I have some kind of feeling that I have shoot numbers of Kodak Portra 160 in medium format.

Well, that just a wrong feeling as I found that I have only shoot 1 roll of Kodak Portra 160 recently, except some of my very early photos taken with Diana F+.

Results of this film quite made me surprised. So I just wrote it down and shared with my fellow film lovers.

Few years ago, Kodak combined the 2 different formulas of Kodak Portra VC (Vivid Color) and Kodak Portra NC (Nature Color).

Most of the users think that the color performance of new Kodak Portra fell between VC and NC, depends on the light condition.

An image taken under well-lighted condition will performs in high saturation color and low contrast.

Over exposure will turn the image into faded color, not as bright white as japanese style photo but more like color in nature tones I would said.

Reasonable under exposure will bring image with gloomy blue tones surprisingly.

It is fun to adjust your exposure value to create different results depends on your need or the condition.

Shocked by the results of Kodak Portra in 135mm format, my love for Kodak Portra 120mm always less than 135mm.

However, this wrong impression was overturned by these recent images.

Fine grain is common between the 2 different formats.

Though it is not as stunning as Kodak Ektar, Kodak Portra 160 undoubtedly provides the result of professional negative film.

Portra is never a cheap film and its price is keep going higher and higher.

In the limited options currently, Kodak Portra 160 won't make you disappoint, if you can afford the price.
